EKG

Your heart wants to tell you something

One of the easiest and quickest diagnostics to assess the heart is an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG).

The heart has many muscle contractions that are coordinated by natural electrical impulses to maintain proper blood flow. These electrical impulses are captured by an ECG/EKG machine and used to determine the heart's rate, rhythm, and strength and timing of the electrical impulses as they travel through the body.

How does an Electrocardiogram work?

During this test, we place electrodes (little plastic patches that adhere to the skin) on particular areas of the chest, arms, and legs are covered with.

Lead wires are used to connect the electrodes to the ECG/EKG device. The heart's electrical activity is recorded, analyzed, and printed out. You will receive no electric shock.

How does an Electrocardiogram help?

An electrocardiogram has many benefits, these are just a few of them:

  • It helps us determines irregular heartbeats (arrythmia).

  • It helps look for the cause of any chest discomfort.

  • To determine how well certain heart medicines are working.

  • It identifies any problems related to the heart’s health.

  • It enables us to define the overall health of the heart prior to any procedure or treatment.

  • It takes a better look on any pacemaker if you have one placed.
